Psalm 46:8-10 New International Version (NIV) 8 Come and see what the Lord has done, the desolations he has brought on the earth. 9 He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the shields[a] with fire. 10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
There will come times in this life where doubt settles into our daily walk as Christians. These times can often come with a sense of panic and urgency especially when we are faced with a matter that has to be resolved in a certain amount of time. When our life is on the clock this can often be one of the greatest tests of our faith. As we watch the clock wind down to zero it seems like our spirits are being stretched to the limit wondering if GOD will come through. Forced into the natural state of fight or flight we experience as human beings, we can rush into hasty decisions of our own rational, looking for any solution to our problems. Though these moments tend to drive us to rush more as seconds dwindle away and aimlessly move to search for any kind of fix to the problem we are facing, these are the moments that God is saying to be still remember who He is. Don’t panic, simply reflect back upon the great things you have already seen me do. Remember the battles I have won for you in the past. If you remember these... that I was GOD then, you can rest assured that I am setting you up to behold My glory once again. God loves to set Himself up to be exalted in your life. He will set up a situation just to come through for you just so you can rejoice in His glory. So next time you are faced with an on the clock situation where you have done all you can remember to just be still and stand. God is setting you up so He can get some glory. He wants to share in the victory with you.
Prayer, Dear God right now my faith is being tested and time is running out. Give me the strength to remain calm and collected under pressure. Plant my feet firmly in your promises so that I may not run into the wrong decision. Bring back fresh memories of the times you delivered me out in the past so that I can rest assured in the victories of the future. AMEN
